In
2017 we made the decision to upgrade the video system in our venue. The goal was to create a system that was
capable of broadcast quality production.
The system was completed in three phases. The first two involved purchasing four PTZ
cameras and working with our facilities department to install new conduit and
cable tray paths. The third phase was a
complete replacement of the video switching, control, and recording
system. The resulting system has the
ability to switch 20 different cameras, record 8 isolated video feed, route
video all over the faculty, and live stream.
This project also included a significant upgrade to our production
computer network. My role on this
project was to design and install the entire system.
Over
the past couple years do to COVID-19 the system has gotten more use than we
ever expected. Throughout the 2020-2021
season we live streamed concerts of local musicians almost every week.
